--
ASTON OTONITY – You're the Only One I Can See showcases the dynamic between Park Jin-yong and Sunwoo—the only woman who appears normal to him—and sparks curiosity about the reasons behind his psychological condition. The concept of a male protagonist who sees all the women around him as giant rocks creates many fresh and unusual moments of visual comedy. Below is a synopsis and a link to the You're the Only One I Can See Chapter 35 English Translation.
Korean comics first emerged under Japanese influence during the colonial period. However, after independence, Korea adopted the left-to-right reading direction, in line with the Hangeul writing system.
This choice was not merely technical but part of an effort to strengthen Korean identity. The popularity of manhwa skyrocketed in the mid-2010s, alongside the development of digital platforms and through webtoons.
The manhwa industry, especially the webtoon sector, has strict regulations regarding physical violence. That is why we often see knives or sharp weapons with blurred parts or replaced by black shapes, to ensure that the content remains safe for younger readers.

Very popular themes in Korea include reincarnation, beauty, and social status—a reflection of competitive Korean society.
The main difference between novels and manhwa lies in their format: novels are text-based (written) and rely on the reader’s imagination, while manhwa are full-color South Korean comic books. Manhwa typically feature more visually striking action scenes, better-developed characters, and more thrilling endings than their novel counterparts.
Currently, manhwa is very popular in its digital, full-color, vertically-scrolled format (webtoon), read on cell phones or computers.
Spoiler You're the Only One I Can See Chapter 35
The story centers on Park Jin-yong, a bookworm who is deeply obsessed with his studies. Interestingly, Jin-yong has an imaginary friend named Jason. To help him stay focused on his studies, Jason gives Jin-yong some strange advice: “Think of and treat all women as if they were rocks.”
Jin-yong takes this advice to the extreme. For five consecutive years, in his eyes, all women literally appear blurry or take the form of lifeless chunks of rock, making him immune to falling in love or school romance drama.
However, that defense crumbles instantly when a female student named Kim Sun-woo appears before him. For some reason, Sun-woo was the only woman whose face appeared clear and not rock-like in Jin-yong’s eyes. This event immediately caused the happiness circuits in Jin-yong’s brain to go into overdrive for the first time. This is where their sweet, funny, and awkward relationship began.
Park Jin-yong is a student who has subjected himself to extreme mental conditioning to avoid being distracted by romance—to the point that, for five years, his brain has perceived all women as stones. That “curse” crumbled when he met Kim Sun-woo, the only female student he could see normally. The story then follows Jin-yong’s awkward and comedic interactions, which gradually evolve into a warm, romantic relationship.
