Synopsis The Boxer
"The Boxer" is a popular webtoon/manhwa by Jung Ji-Hoon (JH) that follows the journey of a mysterious young man named Yu in the world of professional boxing.
Yu is a 17-year-old girl who has suffered severe bullying her entire life. This situation has made her emotionally numb and caused her to lose all will to live, to the point where she would allow herself to be hit without putting up any resistance.
Yu's life was turned upside down when he was recruited by K, a legendary boxing coach who had trained five world champions. Thanks to his instinct and experience, K immediately realized that Yu possessed superhuman talent and speed—especially when it came to dodging punches—that he had never seen before.
This story doesn't just feature spectacular boxing matches; it also explores the dark side of the characters' psychology, their past traumas, their suffering, and the motivations that drive these boxers as they are forced to face Yu's monstrous talent.
JH launched the webtoon Umbilical in December; it is his first new series in three years, following the conclusion of The Boxer.
