The term “Transformers” can refer to two major and very popular concepts: the fictional franchise featuring shape-shifting alien robots, or artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Hasbro has just unveiled a whole new line of Transformers figures at New York Comic Con, including a widely underrated Autobot.
During a panel discussion held on October 8 at NYCC 2026, Hasbro gave fans a first look at its upcoming wave of releases and exclusive figures, including seven new Transformers figures that are sure to delight collectors in 2027. While this new set includes many icons from the franchise, one of the most intriguing revelations is undoubtedly the Voyager-class Guzzle from the “Transformers: Age of the Primes” line.
Hasbro Unveils Guzzle, Starscream, and 5 Other Transformers Figures for 2027
The "Guzzle" figure from the Voyager Class in the "Transformers: Age of the Primes" series stands 6.5 inches tall and offers collectors a surprisingly detailed reproduction of this often-overlooked Autobot hero, who made his debut in the original Transformers toy line in the late 1980s as part of the "Generation 1" collection.
The official description of this figure reads: “Before the war, even before the Autobots and Decepticons appeared, there were the Thirteen Primes. Every robot, every battle, and every power in the Transformers universe traces its origins back to them. The ‘Age of the Primes’ line pays tribute to their epic legacy through a comprehensive collection that covers virtually every aspect of this universe.”
“Guzzle is a seasoned warrior with no patience for subtleties; he throws himself straight into battle, armed and ready to fight. Add the Transformers Guzzle Voyager Class figure (6.5 inches) to your Age of the Primes collection. It transforms from robot mode to tank mode in 23 steps… Transformers fans, build your collection to create a set that goes far beyond appearances.”
Guzzle is accompanied by three other figures from the “Age of the Primes” line: “The Thirteen Onyx Prime the Deceiver” (Leader class), Starscream (Leader class), and Cybershark (Voyager class), which round out the line. Collectors can also pick up the “Studio Series” editions of the Autobot Jazz (Deluxe class) as well as the Autobots Ironhide and Ratchet (Voyager class), inspired by the 2007 movie “Transformers.”
The three “Transformers Studio Series” figures are expected to be available for pre-order on October 13 and will begin arriving in stores early next year at retailers such as Hasbro Pulse, Amazon, Walmart, and Target. As for the “Transformers: Age of the Primes” figure line, it is expected to be available next spring.
The year 2026 has been one of the most memorable to date for the Transformers franchise, with the announcements made at New York Comic Con being just the latest in a series of new developments that have delighted fans in recent months. In addition to a host of new Transformers collectibles and toys, audiences had the chance to rediscover *Transformers: The Movie* on the big screen to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
It was also recently announced that Paramount Skydance had enlisted Hollywood icon Steven Spielberg to oversee the next big-budget feature film in the “Transformers” series, alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the franchise’s longtime producer. Spielberg will serve as executive producer, while Michael Bay is reportedly in talks to return as director, which could well mark a strong comeback for this long-running franchise on the big screen.
