Adaptation Theory to Operation: True Love Chapter 147 English Translation, APerson Will Receive Throughout Their Life
--
ASTON OTONITY – Operation: True Love is more than just a typical high school romance, this manhwa introduces an element of mystery through a smartphone called Jellypop. The system inside this phone can detect the amount of love a person will receive throughout their life. The fact that the protagonist, Shim Soo-ae, has zero points sparks great curiosity: how can she change her destiny in a world that measures self-worth based on that digital number? Below is a synopsis and a link to the Operation: True Love Chapter 147 English Translation.
Korean comics first emerged under Japanese influence during the colonial period. However, after independence, Korea adopted the left-to-right reading direction, in line with the Hangeul writing system.
This choice was not merely technical but part of an effort to strengthen Korean identity. The popularity of manhwa skyrocketed in the mid-2010s, alongside the development of digital platforms and through webtoons.
The manhwa industry, especially the webtoon sector, has strict regulations regarding physical violence. That is why we often see knives or sharp weapons with blurred parts or replaced by black shapes, to ensure that the content remains safe for younger readers.
Very popular themes in Korea include reincarnation, beauty, and social status—a reflection of competitive Korean society.
The main difference between novels and manhwa lies in their format: novels are text-based (written) and rely on the reader’s imagination, while manhwa are full-color South Korean comic books. Manhwa typically feature more visually striking action scenes, better-developed characters, and more thrilling endings than their novel counterparts.
Currently, manhwa is very popular in its digital, full-color, vertically-scrolled format (webtoon), read on cell phones or computers.
Spoiler Operation: True Love Chapter 147
The story centers on a high school student named Su-ae Shim. For years, Su-ae has been dating Minu Kang, a boyfriend who is cold, aloof, and indifferent toward her. Su-ae’s life becomes increasingly difficult because she is often compared to her adopted sister, Ra-im, who is portrayed as extremely beautiful, popular, and charismatic.
Su-ae’s ordinary school life suddenly takes a strange and suspenseful turn after she discovers Jellypop, a mysterious flip phone that can talk, inside her locker. This old-school phone has a system that tracks the amount—or “love points”—a person will receive throughout their life.
A huge shock follows: Su-ae’s love count is 0! This means she is destined to never be loved by anyone in her entire life. The mysterious system then gives Su-ae a time-limited mission to increase her love points. If she fails to meet the target, her life is at risk of being “eliminated.”
The situation becomes even more complicated when Su-ae learns the bitter truth that her boyfriend, Minu, has been cheating on her behind her back with Ra-im, her own adopted sister. In order to increase her love points so she can survive and get her revenge, Su-ae finally carries out a reckless plan. She pretends to be in a close relationship with Eunhyeok Go, Minu’s popular, smart, and mysterious best friend.
