4 Interesting Facts About the Relationship Between Steve Rogers and Loki in the MCU!
--
ASTON OTONITY – If you look at their first encounter, their relationship was actually quite simple: they were enemies. However, as the MCU has evolved, some interesting details about their relationship have emerged.
Especially after the *Avengers: Endgame* Encore revealed something we’d never seen before: Loki reuniting with Steve Rogers.
As the leader of the Chitauri invasion of Earth, he was naturally an enemy of Steve Rogers and the other Avengers. Steve himself was among those who faced Loki directly during the battle in Stuttgart, Germany.
And when the Avengers finally won the battle, Steve was one of the team members standing near the defeated Loki.
Interestingly, even though their relationship was strictly that of enemies, Loki actually showed interest in Steve Rogers on several occasions.
When the Avengers from 2012 were about to take Loki away after the Battle of New York, Steve took the initiative to go coordinate the search and rescue operation. This scene isn’t in the original *The Avengers*, but it was seen by Tony Stark (2019) during the Time Heist.
At first, they were just arch-enemies, but the latest lore leading up to *Avengers: Doomsday* reveals a secret connection involving time travel and the Multiverse.
Steve Rogers first fought Loki face-to-face in Stuttgart and during the Battle of New York in the movie The Avengers (2012).
In Thor: The Dark World, Loki once teased Thor by disguising himself as Captain America, complete with the costume. Conversely, in Avengers: Endgame, Steve from the future was mistaken for Loki in disguise when he met the 2012 Avengers team.
After the events of *Avengers: Endgame*, Steve Rogers decided to stay in the past with Peggy Carter. Steve’s decision created a new timeline (an alternate timeline) that should have been considered an anomaly by the Time Variance Authority (TVA).
Recent lore or narrative leaks reveal that the Loki Variant (L1130)—who has now become the God of Stories, guardian of the Multiverse—secretly met with Steve Rogers.
Steve’s presence in this alternate timeline turns out to have triggered a rift in the Multiverse, giving rise to an even greater threat: Doctor Doom. Loki, whose role is bound to safeguarding the timeline, needs Steve’s help as a key pawn to confront this Multiverse chaos in the future.
