With just one day remaining before its premiere, ‘Made in Korea’ Season 2 has already entered the upper ranks of FUNdex’s drama buzz chart, signaling growing anticipation among Korean viewers and media outlets.
As we know before, season 1 premiered on December 24 last year and concluded with six episodes. Set in 1970s South Korea, the series followed Baek Ki Tae, a KCIA agent leading a double life as a smuggler, and prosecutor Jang Gun Young, who relentlessly pursued him.
And now in season 2 picks up nine years later in 1979, depicting a South Korea plunged into chaos amid a power vacuum at the highest levels of government. This new season will premiere on Disney+ with two episodes on September 9, followed by two additional episodes on September 16 and another two on September 23, bringing the series to a total of six episodes.
This movie is director Woo Min Ho returns to helm the series, with Park Eun Kyo writing the screenplay and Woo Min Ho also handling the adaptation. The series is produced by Hive Media Corp. and presented by The Walt Disney Company Korea.
Not like Season 1, which featured episodes with distinct tones and styles, Season 2 follows a single overarching narrative centered on one major incident from beginning to end.
This movie's production stills previously released for the series also showed the filmmakers’ intention to structure all six episodes as one continuous story, almost like an extended feature film.
