One of the most striking similarities between Asta and Ichigo is that their sources of power are linked to terrifying-looking supernatural beings. From the very beginning of *Black Clover*, Asta has used an Anti-Magic sword that originated from Liebe, the demon residing within his Five-Leaf Grimoire. However, Asta only came to understand Liebe’s true identity more deeply after undergoing the Devil-Binding Ritual with Nacht Faust.

Unlike other demon users who try to make demons their subordinates, Asta has chosen to form an equal partnership with Liebe.

The two then worked together until they were able to activate Unite, also known as Devil Union.

Meanwhile, Ichigo possesses Hollow powers that have become a part of him.

That power is connected to the White, a Hollow created by Aizen that once attacked Masaki Kurosaki and later influenced the origins of Ichigo's powers.

After learning the truth about Zangetsu, Ichigo finally realized that the Hollow’s power wasn’t just some foreign entity trying to take control of his body, but rather a part of his Zanpakuto’s power and his own identity.

Well, this is where the similarities become apparent. Both Asta and Ichigo have evolved by harnessing the power of Liebe and Hollows.

However, the mechanisms are still different. Asta works together with Liebe as a separate entity, whereas Ichigo’s Hollow power is part of his own soul. Try to recall Asta and Ichigo’s journeys before they obtained their latest transformations.

Both of them have experienced conflicts related to their sources of power. At first, Asta didn’t really understand who the demon in his Grimoire was.

However, after meeting Liebe, he learned that the demon had a tragic past and harbored deep hatred toward his fellow demons. Asta also learned of Liebe’s connection to Licita, the woman who was Asta’s biological mother and who had once cared for Liebe.

Instead of treating Liebe as a monster, Asta sees him as a partner with a shared goal. This relationship is the foundation of the Devil Union. Ichigo’s journey wasn’t much different. From the very beginning of *Bleach*, Ichigo has repeatedly faced the Hollow within himself.

In fact, during his battle against Ulquiorra, that power briefly took control of his body and caused him to lose control. However, in the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc, Ichigo finally came to understand the connection between the Shinigami, Hollow, and Quincy powers he had inherited.

He is no longer simply trying to suppress one power so that another can be used. Instead, Ichigo has come to accept that all of these powers are part of who he is.

It is this development that makes Devil Union and Blood Chains feel like they have a greater significance than just an increase in power.

Asta grew stronger because of his faith in Liebe, while Ichigo grew after understanding and accepting the power that was already a part of him.

That’s all the information about the similarities between Unite Asta and Ichigo’s Blood Chains—something you definitely won’t want to miss. Enjoy the show, and keep following us for updates on your favorite anime!
