Release Schedule The Forgotten Field Chapter 36 English Translation, Become More Entangled with One Another
--
ASTON OTONITY – The Forgotten Field has become incredibly exciting and popular thanks to the combination of its creator’s legendary reputation and its unconventional storytelling—which stands out from standard fantasy romance (rofan) manhwa. Below is a synopsis and a link to the The Forgotten Field Chapter 36 English Translation.
Manhwa is the Korean term for comics or graphic novels, which literally means “sketched drawing.” Outside of Korea, the term manhwa refers specifically to comics originating in South Korea.
Currently, manhwa is very popular in its digital, full-color, vertically-scrolled format (webtoon), read on cell phones or computers. Unlike Japanese manga, which is generally in black and white, manhwa—especially in the webtoon format—is usually presented in full color.

Korean comics first emerged under Japanese influence during the colonial period. However, after independence, Korea adopted the left-to-right reading direction, in line with the Hangeul writing system.
This choice was not merely technical but part of an effort to strengthen Korean identity. The popularity of manhwa skyrocketed in the mid-2010s, alongside the development of digital platforms and through webtoons.
The manhwa industry, especially the webtoon sector, has strict regulations regarding physical violence. That is why we often see knives or sharp weapons with blurred parts or replaced by black shapes, to ensure that the content remains safe for younger readers.
Spoiler The Forgotten Field Chapter 36
The story centers on Talia Roem Gwirta, an unfortunate imperial princess born of an affair (an illegitimate child). Talia grew up in a cold, hostile palace environment, neglected by her parents, treated with hostility by her half-siblings, and humiliated by the palace servants. To survive in this toxic environment, Talia developed “thorns” within herself—she became cold, angry, rebellious, and lashed out at anyone who tried to get close to her.
However, Talia’s defenses and stubbornness crumbled in the presence of one man: Varkas Laedgo Siorcan (also spelled Barkas / Barcas). Varkas is a noble prince from the Eastern realm, a palace guard, and the heir to the Grand Duke’s throne. Unlike the fiery Talia, Varkas grew up under an extraordinarily strict discipline bordering on abuse, which numbed and dulled his emotions. Varkas is a rigid man who lives solely for his duty and his family’s honor.
Talia is secretly in love with Varkas. However, to fulfill a magical promise made in the past to the late Empress, Varkas is bound by an engagement to Talia’s half-sister, Ayla (Aila). Devastated by the betrayal of circumstances and her unrequited love, Talia slowly begins to spiral into deep despair.
Talia is portrayed as a selfish, jealous, and defensive female lead due to her childhood trauma. Meanwhile, Varkas is a cold man who is overly driven by a sense of duty. Their relationship is fraught with wounds that grow deeper as they become more entangled with one another.
